HOW TO DRAW
A drawing is the basis of a painting. I believe you have already heard that a number of times already. Every art technique follows specific rules for preparation. The pencil or the coloured pencil is used in a different manner than aquarelle, sanguine chalk is used differently than charcoal.
The old masters established the rule that one should first learn how to draw and decide what to paint afterwards. The problem is in the relationship between our skill and our aspirations, meaning how well versed we are in the application of a particular art technique and how well this particular technique can allow us to express our aspirations.
